Performing poses as dancer view is very different from what is needed in this project! That means, capturing the movements and poses from dance through shadow needs a dancer who's familiar in both painting and dance and also be aware of power of shadow and light and disability of it and also being familiar with the spirit of the chosen new age folk music. Base on this fact, and base on portfolios and talents, the teams managed and shaped for Sarvenaz to do the dancing, and Rasfan to do the paintings. Background and Idea: The ideas for the hybrid performance derive from observation of the traditional Malay performances and the potential of light and shadow. Thus the performances involves the Wayang Kulit ensemble, the Malay dance and also the visual art of painting are most suited to execute the idea and potential of light and shadow performance.
