It was written by Shannon and keyboardist Max Crook, and became a major international hit. Singer-guitarist Charles Westover and keyboard player Max Crook performed together as members of "Charlie Johnson and the Big Little Show Band" in Battle Creek, Michigan, before their group won a recording contract in 1960. Westover took the new stage name "Del Shannon", and Crook, who had invented his own clavioline-based synthesiser, the Musitron, became "Maximilian". After their first recording session for Big Top Records in New York had ended in failure, their manager Ollie mclaughlin persuaded them to rewrite and re-record an earlier song they had written, "Little Runaway", to highlight Crook's unique instrumental sound. On January 21, 1961, they recorded "Runaway" at the Bell Sound recording studios, with Harry Balk as producer, session musician Al ... | | | | | | American Graffiti Paradise Road Author: ScottysSpeedShop Length: 2 minutes, 55 seconds Rating: 4.9693875 | Description: Drag race at Paradise Road.

The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips and Harrison Ford. Set in 1962 Modesto, California, American Graffiti tells of the exploits and adventures of a group of teenagers during a night of cruising around town and listening to pirate radio personality Wolfman Jack. Development of the film started shortly after the release of Lucas's THX 1138 in 1971, at the same time as Lucas was developing an "untitled science fiction space opera", later to become the basis for Star Wars. The film was initially funded by United Artists, but after creative differences arose with the studio, Lucas decided to work with Universal Pictures instead. Filming started at San Rafael, California, but the production was kicked out of the town and most of the film was shot in Petaluma, California. Although Universal interfered little with production, it did object to the film's title of American Graffiti, recommending Lucas change it to Another Slow Night in Modesto. The editing of American Graffiti was strenuous: the first cut was roughly 210 minutes long, and the final cut was released at 112 minutes. To this day the location of the other 100 minutes of footage remains unknown. The film received positive reviews and was a unanimous box office success (recouping 92 ... | | | | | | cooley high - part 1of 12 Author: WATUNOBOUTHAT Length: 11 minutes Rating: 4.888889 | Description: (1975)Michael Schultz (CAR WASH, GREASED LIGHTNING) directs this refreshing coming-of-age picture, focusing on the lives of two 1964 Chicago high school seniors as they prepare for adulthood. Cochise (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs) is a basketball star and Preach (Glynn Turman) is his scholarly best friend. Together, with their pals Willie, Pooter, and Tyrone, the boys spend their days running around the city, pulling off an endless string of harmless scams. But when they agree to go for a joyride in a car that Stone (Sherman Smith) and Robert (Norman Gibson) have stolen, their previously carefree existence takes a turn for the dramatic. This also threatens Preach's relationship with the beautiful Brenda (Cynthia Davis), who he has finally begun to woo. By the time their actions have caught up with them (in the form of the police, as well as Stone and Robert), it might be too late to escape. Schultz's film, which owes an obvious debt to AMERICAN GRAFFITI (and which also inspired the television series WHAT'S HAPPENING?), boasts an unforgettable vintage Motown soundtrack. It also features a standout ensemble performance, including two sparkling performances by Turman and Hilton-Jacobs in the lead roles.(c)mgm Filmed on location in Chicago, Illinois. | | | | | | American Graffiti Trailer Author: animania54 Length: 2 minutes, 54 seconds Rating: 4.76 | Description: HQ trailer for "American Graffiti".

Lyric: I couldn't sleep Took a walk down Second Avenue Sick of dreaming dreams that never come true One way street and I know where its leading to There's a "For Sale" sign on the front door of the city hall The subway line got graffiti crawling off the wall I could take a hit but I don't want to take the fall That's just one side of the story In this two story town It's just the same old sights And the same old sounds I want to take my car and drive out of this two story town It's the same old ship going down I'm going down, down ,down, down, down It's a two story town There's a girl that I sleep with She's got ecstasy eyes He promised her roses and American pie I called her and my demons And I kissed them both goodbye Seven days of Monday morning In a two story town It's just the same old sights And the same old sounds I want to take my horse and ride him off this merry-go-round It's the same old ship going down I'm going down, down, down, down, down It's a two story town One shot to make a move now The ghosts are calling me out And me I'm just one story In a two story town But you're never going to find me in the lost and found It's just the same old sights And the same old sounds I ... | | | | | | Classic cars galore at American Graffiti Parade 2007 Author: modbeedotcom Length: 3 minutes, 30 seconds Rating: 4.8691587 | Description: Hundreds of classic cars cruise downtown Modesto in the 2007 American Graffiti Parade.

The group began with the nucleus of "Country Joe" mcdonald (lead vocals) and Barry "The Fish" Melton (lead guitar), recording and performing for the "Teach-In" protests against the Vietnam War in 1965. Co-founders mcdonald and Melton added musicians as needed over the life of the band. By 1967, the group included Gary "Chicken" Hirsh (drums) (born in 1940, in Chicago, Illinois); David Cohen (keyboards) (born 8 April 1942, in Brooklyn, New York) and Bruce Barthol (bass) (born 11 November 1947 in Berkeley, California). The 1967 lineup lasted only two years, and by the 1969 music festival Woodstock, the lineup included Greg 'Duke' Dewey (drums), Mark Kapner (keyboards) and Doug Metzler (bass). The band came to perform an early example of psychedelic music. The LP "Electric Music for the Mind and Body" was very influential on early FM Radio in 1967. Long sets of psychedelic tunes like "Section 43", "Bass Strings", "Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine", "Janis" (for and about Janis Joplin) and "Grace" (for singer Grace Slick) (all released on Vanguard Records) were often played back to back on KSAN and KMPX in San Francisco and progressive rock stations around the country. Their first album charted at #39 on September 23, 1967, their ... | | |
