Throughout the semester, I did various experiments with animation as part of the curriculum. Each student was given a alloted time to complete their experiments, usually 3-4 hours. The first experiment was...More Description: Over Fall 2009 in Umass Amherst, I took an animation course, Art 297Q: Animation Fundamentals. Throughout the semester, I did various experiments with animation as part of the curriculum. Each student was given a alloted time to complete their experiments, usually 3-4 hours. The first experiment was a simple stop motion animation with a single object. The assignment called for the object to interact in some way with the edges of the screen. The second animation is a silhouette animation. The assignment called for using cutouts for either a simple cutout animation or a silhouette animation if backlit. The third experiment was a simple sand animation. I did a stick man and transformed and blew up trying to open a box. The fourth animation is a drawn walk cycle. The fifth animation is an animated clay face on paper. My final project is a drawn animation using a few walk cycles and an arm snap at the end. Voice done by me, Andrew "Tzi An" Chan . |
