The janitor's coveralls had a name patch on them that said: Colin. He molested her. She tried to tell everyone what Colin did to her, but instead of believing her, they blamed the little girl for saying such unspeakable things. So they tried to sacrifice her. Her hatred ignited the coal fires under the earth, driving everyone out of the town, and pulling all of her persecutors into a hellish version of Silent Hill. Colin was punished by being tied up in the restroom stall where he molested her, his body pulled into contorted shape so the only way he could move was by scraping his groin on the ground - a fitting torture for the part of his body that violated her The movie is scary, not because of the supernatural, but because this is what used to happen in real world. Back in the old days, when a girl told on her abuser she got slapped around, diagnosed as crazy, and locked up in a mental institution.
