Description: WINDOWS XP INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Download Partition Wizard Home Edition (google it, it's free) 2.Right click your main hard drive inside the program and click move/resize 3. Open disk management 4. Right click the unallocated (black) space and click new partition 5. Follow the instuctions in vista starting at step 7 WINDOWS VISTA INSTRUCTIONS: Steps for making a partition: 1. Go to the start menu 2. Right click My Computer and hit Manage 3. Click Disk management 4. Right click the hard drive you want to take memory off of, for your new partition (Default: C:/) 5. Type in the amount you want for your new partition in mbs 6. Once that's done, right click the black, unallocated space, and click "New Simple volume" 7. Hit next, next again, and then assign a drive letter 8. On the next page, don't change anything except for the Volume Label (your partition's name) Steps for removing a partition: BEFORE STARTING: Back up any data you put on your partition 1. Go to the start menu 2. Right click my computer, and hit manage 3. Click disk management 4. Right click the partition you want to remove (NEVER YOUR MAIN DRIVE OR "RECOVERY") and click "Delete Volume" 5. Right click it again and click "Delete Partition" 6. Right click your main drive, and click "Extend Volume" 7. Keep clicking next to re-assign the unallocated space, to your main drive. |
